Can domain age be faked?

Not directly. The registration creation date is stored in the authoritative registry (Verisign for .com, PIR for .org, etc.) and is not editable by the registrant. However, someone can buy an aged domain that previously belonged to another owner — inheriting the age signal but not the historical content or reputation. Look at Wayback Machine snapshots to see if the domain’s content history is genuine.
