EFFECTIVE 2026 · UPDATED PERIODICALLY

DomainScan terms of service — the contract between you and us when you use our tools, API or AI assistant.

These terms govern your use of DomainScan and the Prism AI assistant. Short version: use the service for any lawful purpose, respect the rate limits, don't break the law, don't try to scrape or reverse-engineer us. Material changes are communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect.

01 · OVERVIEW

What you're agreeing to

By creating an account, calling the API or using any tool on this site, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

  • Parties These terms are between you (or the legal entity you represent) and DomainScan.in ("DomainScan", "we", "us").
  • Scope Covers the public website, all hosted tools, the REST API, the Prism AI assistant and any documentation or SDKs we publish.
  • Capacity You confirm you are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher.
  • Updates We update these terms periodically. Material changes are emailed at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
02 · YOUR ACCOUNT

Account responsibilities

If you create an account or generate an API key:

  • Accurate registration Provide a valid email and real identity information for paid plans. False registration data may result in suspension.
  • Credential safekeeping Your API keys are bearer tokens — anyone holding them can call the API as you. Store them in a secret manager, rotate them on compromise, never commit them to version control.
  • Per-account use Accounts are non-transferable. Use shared accounts only within your own organization or team.
  • Single signup per person Do not create multiple Free-tier accounts to circumvent quotas. This is the most common reason for suspension.
03 · ACCEPTABLE USE

What you may and may not do

Wide scope of legitimate use. A short list of things that are not allowed:

  • Don't violate the law Anything illegal in your jurisdiction or ours (United States, jurisdiction of incorporation) is prohibited. This includes targeting infrastructure you don't own without explicit authorization.
  • Don't reverse-engineer or scrape Do not attempt to bypass authentication, extract source code, scrape the dashboard or train models on our outputs without explicit licensing.
  • Don't resell raw Embedding individual results in your own product is fine. Reselling the API surface as a thin wrapper is not — talk to us about partnership/OEM terms first.
  • Don't abuse the AI assistant Prism AI exists to help with diagnostics. Prompt injection attempts, jailbreaks and attempts to use the model for harmful content are out of bounds and may be logged.
  • Respect rate limits Implement exponential backoff on 429. Sustained rate-limit violation triggers automatic key suspension.
04 · BILLING

Billing, payments and refunds

Standard SaaS billing terms, in plain English:

  • Currency & taxes Prices are in USD, exclusive of applicable VAT/GST. We collect and remit taxes where legally required.
  • Billing cycle Monthly or annual, on the calendar day you first subscribed. Renewals are automatic until you cancel.
  • Refund policy Pro-rated refund within 14 days of a new subscription, no questions asked. Beyond that, refunds at our discretion for genuine product issues.
  • Failed payments We retry charges over 7 days, then downgrade the account to Free. No data is deleted as a result of a billing lapse.
  • Price changes Existing subscriptions are grandfathered at the price you signed up at for at least 12 months. Any future increases are emailed 30 days in advance.
05 · SLA

Service level agreements

Best-effort on Free and Starter. Credit-backed SLA on Pro and Business.

  • Free / Starter — best effort We aim for high availability but offer no monetary SLA. Status page tracks incidents.
  • Pro — 99.5% monthly uptime If we fall below 99.5%, you get a credit equal to 10% of the monthly fee per 0.1% of missed uptime, up to 100% of monthly fee.
  • Business — 99.9% monthly uptime Stricter target with the same credit structure. Excludes scheduled maintenance announced 7+ days in advance.
  • What's excluded Outages caused by upstream providers (DNS registries, blacklist services), DDoS attacks against your specific account, force majeure.
06 · LIABILITY

Warranties, disclaimers and liability cap

Standard SaaS limitations — these protect both sides:

  • "As is" service The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind except as required by applicable law. We don't warrant uninterrupted availability, complete accuracy of upstream data, or fitness for any specific use case.
  • Diagnostic, not authoritative Our tools aggregate public data and AI analysis. They are diagnostic aids. Do not make critical business decisions (acquisitions, legal action, security responses) on the basis of a single tool result without independent verification.
  • Liability cap To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Indemnification You agree to indemnify DomainScan against claims arising from your misuse of the service, breach of these terms, or violation of third-party rights.
07 · TERMINATION

Account termination and what happens after

Either side can terminate. Data handling is different depending on which side initiates:

  • You terminate Self-serve from Settings → Account → Delete. Account, keys and personal data deleted within 30 days. Billing records retained for tax/accounting reasons (see privacy policy).
  • We terminate For material breach (illegal use, abuse, fraud, sustained rate-limit violation, non-payment after 7-day grace). We'll notify you with the reason where legally permitted.
  • Effect of termination API keys revoked, dashboard access removed, in-flight calls 401 within seconds. Outstanding paid-plan fees are non-refundable beyond the standard 14-day window.
  • Survival Sections covering liability, indemnification, billing records and dispute resolution survive termination.
08 · GOVERNING LAW

Jurisdiction, disputes and contact

  • Governing law These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction of DomainScan's incorporation, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
  • Disputes Disputes attempt good-faith resolution via written notice first. If unresolved after 30 days, resolved in the courts of the jurisdiction of incorporation.
  • Severability If a clause is held unenforceable, it is severed; the rest of the terms remain in effect.
  • Contact Questions about these terms: [email protected]. General contact: /contact.
